Townsend Community Centre

Townsend Community Centre is situated in between the One Stop shop and the Bournemouth Training Centre on Jewell Road (old Townsend School).

Townsend Community Centre is a Bournemouth Borough Council building managed by Townsend Community Association. The Association is a Management committee made up of Members of the community who volunteer their time to manage the centre and is a registered Charity. The Centre is completely managed by Volunteers and has NO paid members of staff.

There are a variety of activities available for the community from: Community Days,  Bingo (Monday 7.30pm-9pm), Darts (Saturdays 7.30pm-11pm), Football (Saturday 2.pm-4pm Back field unless away game)(Sunday 10am-1pm Back field unless away game) , TCAMP (The Community Arts & Music Project) Wednesday 6pm – 7.30pm,   taekwondo (Thursday 5pm-9pm), Molly Dancing (8pm-10pm).

You can also hire the centre for parties, we cater for all ages here with a bouncy castle for children`s parties and a DJ all available for hire at a small charge, We hire the hall out for £10.00 per hour from morning until night. The Townsend Together Team

Mission Statement of the Townsend Together Team (3Ts)

This group was set up as a direct request from residents to enable them to work together effectively for the Townsend area. The group has representatives from Bournemouth Borough Council, Western Challenge Housing Society, The local Police, Schools, Churches, Children’s Centre and local residents.
 
We meet at least eight times a year and hold meetings at days and times to suit as many people as possible.
The group has;  

Helped reduce Anti Social Behaviour and crime in the area.
Improved youth provision for the local community.
Improved environmental issues
Improved Community Cohesion
Working relationship with Townsend Community Centre.
Worked with The Children’s Centre to improve facilities for families with under 5’s

Townsend Together Team goes from strength to strength and agencies are fully committed in developing and improving the quality of life for people in this area.
